« We are delighted by the incredible interest in hosting the Centennial Games, in 2030, and beyond., comments Katie Sadleir, Chief Executive of Commonwealth Sport. This positive response from four of our six regions (Africa, Asia, Americas, Oceania) underlines the importance of the Commonwealth Games and their position asmajor multi-sport event in the calendar world sports, alongside the Olympic and Paralympic Games, and shows the strength and appeal of our model of Games reimagined. »
Darren Hall, Commonwealth Sport's Director of Games and Insurance, detailed what happens next: " We will now examine each application in more detail and work with each interested association and its regional representatives in a co-creation and collaboration phase to establish the feasibility of the organization. Over the next five months, candidates who advance in the process will be required to provide a detailed Games proposal to Commonwealth Sport. This proposal will be followed by an evaluation process led by Commonwealth Sport, which will culminate in our Executive Board recommending a host to the membership for approval at the general meeting at the end of November 2025 in Glasgow, Scotland. »
