First Sailing Inclusion Championships will take place this year. “An innovative event designed to celebrate and highlighting inclusion in sailing, with emphasis on disability”, according to the presentation of the International Federation (World Sailing). The event is aimed at sailors "of all levels", and athletes who do not meet the IPC classification code criteria will be able to compete alongside para-athletes. “We are delighted to add this competition to our growing programme of inclusive events, explains Fiona Kidd, World Sailing’s head of international development. We encourage our community members to join us in making history and being part of the first Inclusion Championships.” The candidates have until January 31 to make themselves known to the federation.
