Brisbane 2032

Queensland Government unveils new Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games venue plan this Tuesday, March 25. A highly anticipated announcement after an in-depth study lasting several months on existing infrastructure and on future needs. What decisions will the authorities make? "It's a plan that will allow us to establish generational infrastructures and to host great Games when the whole world will have its eyes on us", assured David Crisafulli, Premier of Queensland, during a press conference on Monday. The elected official hopes to turn the page after "three years of chaos and crisis" in his own words. According to the Courier Mail, six of the fourteen venues originally planned to host events as part of Brisbane 2032 will be scrapped. The plan to build Brisbane Indoor Sports Center, designed to accommodate basketball, will be sacrificed according to the Australian media. On the other hand, the construction ofa 60.000-seat stadium in Victoria Park would be maintained, despite criticism from residents and environmental groups.
