Brazil will have to find a new president

Football

The president of the Brazilian Football Federation (CBF), José Maria Marin, will not seek a second term in 2015, a year after the World Cup in Brazil. “I am a candidate to work, but I am not a candidate for election,” declared the leader, aged 81. He arrived at the presidency in 2012 after the resignation of Ricardo Teixeira, accused of corruption after 23 years at the head of Brazilian football. José Maria Marin was himself criticized for his management and a petition called for his resignation last March . It brought together some 55.000 signatures, including that of another former Brazilian football star, Romario, who became a federal deputy.
