Botswana hosts the African Youth Games

African Youth Games

Botswana has been designated to host the African Youth Games in 2014.

These Games bring together no less than 4000 young African athletes from 54 countries on the continent. Hosting these Games is a great opportunity for this country, landlocked between Zimbabwe, Namibia and South Africa, which still remains unknown to the rest of the world. The Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture, Shaw Kgathi, declared that “the games would put Botswana on the world map”.

The minister reaffirmed that Botswana had put together a good project to convince the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (ANOCA) that it was the best candidate.
