The Spanish city of Barcelona will not enter the race for the Winter Games in 2026. Its new mayor, Ada Colau, explained this very clearly to the national press. According to her, the Catalan city currently has other priorities than an Olympic candidacy. Ada Colau explained that the next municipal investments in the field of sport will rather concern mass equipment, mainly in disciplines of Mediterranean culture.
