All eyes are on Egypt! The Badminton World Federation (BWF) has awarded the Junior World Championships to Cairo. This will be the second major BWF championship to take place in Africa24 years after the Junior World Championships in South Africa. In January, the BWF announced it was opening a new bidding process following the Indonesia's withdrawalwho was supposed to organize the competition.
The exact dates are yet to be finalized, but the Championships are expected to take place in October. It was essential for the BWF to designate a host country capable of organizing this event to the highest standards. The proposal of Egypt has demonstrated a clear will and ambition., and hosting these championships in Africa for the first time since 2002 constitutes a decisive step in expanding the global presence of badminton " says BWF President Khunying Patama Leeswadtrakul.
