Applications come from everywhere

Esport

The dizzying growth of eSports shows no sign of stopping. As a result, major events on the international calendar are increasingly attracting interest from cities. The International Electronic Sports Federation (IESF) announced in a press release that it had received a record number of applications for its competitions in 2025 and 2026, the world championships and the continental qualifying tournaments. For the first time since the creation of the South Korea-based body, they were submitted by more than 30 cities on five continents. The application files are currently in the evaluation phase. Created in 2008 by nine founding countries, the IESF now has 146 member national federations.
