A successful venture. World Aquatics and the International Association of Aquatic Environment Protection (ITA) have officially extended their collaboration until 2028The ITA's scope of responsibilities will thus expand. The agency already managed the implementation of World Aquatics' out-of-competition testing program, in-competition testing, the athlete biological passport, and therapeutic use exemption applications. Now, it will also review decisions made by national anti-doping organizations and manage the long-term storage of more than 400 samples per year, with the possibility of reanalyzing them for 10 years.
This partnership guarantees that at least 3,000 out-of-competition tests will be carried out in 2028 before the Los Angeles Olympics.
