One year after the IOC, the International World Games Association has in turn elected a woman to lead it. Anna Arzhanova was overwhelmingly chosen over Lukas Hinder on Saturday during the General Assembly held in Lausanne. After three terms on the executive committee, the president of the World Underwater Federation will assume the role of President of the IWGA until 2030.
She becomes the first woman to reach this positionHis three predecessors were indeed men: Kim Un-Yong (1980–1992), Ron Froehlich (1992–2014) and José Perurena (2014–2026). Jan Fransoo (International Korfball Federation) will serve as vice-president during this new term, and John Liljelund (International Floorball Federation) as treasurer. The executive committee is completed by Espen Lund, Nob Rauch, Antonio Pérez Priego, Joachim Thumfart, and Sandra Sánchez, the president of the athletes' committee.
