Andrew Parsons re-elected for a final term

IPC

Andrew Parsons will take on a third and final four-year term as head of the International Paralympic Committee. The Brazilian received 109 votes at the General Assembly on Saturday in Seoul, against 68 for his only rival, Dong Hyun Bae. Portuguese Leila Marques Mota was appointed first vice-president and Danish John Petersson second vice-president.

« I'm really happy, I think it shows the confidence of IPC members in the direction we are taking with the Paralympic Movement, Parsons said. From a personal perspective, being able to finish what I started in 2017 when I was first elected, but also having the opportunity to launch new projects, to open new doors and new horizons over my last four years will be incredible. I am grateful to the Paralympic family for giving me this wonderful opportunity. I feel a mixture of joy, happiness and pride, but above all, I would like to thank from the bottom of my heart the members of the IPC for the trust they have placed in me. »
