A new president for the United States Track and Field Federation (USATF). The site Thesportsexaminerreports that former race walker Curt Clausen was elected last weekend as president of the body, where he will replace Vin Lananna, who was first elected in 2017 and then re-elected in 2021. Curt Clausen, 57, a three-time Olympian in the 20 and 50 km race walks (Atlanta 1996, Sydney 2000 and Athens 2004), won against former triple jumper Mike Conley, Olympic champion in Barcelona in 1992. He obtained 56,7% of the vote, compared to 43,3% for his only rival. After his career as a race walker, marked by a bronze medal in the 50 km at the World Championships in 1999, Curt Clausen studied law. He is currently the lawyer for the company Tickets.com in New York.
