USA grabs maximum Olympic quota in figure skating

The World Figure Skating Championships, held in Boston, awarded 83 quotas for the 2026 Milan-Cortina Olympic GamesThe United States obtained eleven places, the maximum possible, with three quotas for men, three for women, three for ice dancing, as well as two for the couples event. Canada (7 quotas), Japan (7), Italy (6) and France (5) also managed to pull through.

Behind them, the other quotas were distributed among Great Britain (4), South Korea (4), Finland (3), Germany (3), Switzerland (3), Poland (3), Georgia (3), Latvia (2), Kazakhstan (2), Spain (2), Estonia (2), Hungary, Australia, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Slovakia, Sweden, China, Belgium, Israel, Austria, Romania, Bulgaria, Lithuania and the Netherlands. A qualifying competition will be held in Beijing (September 17-21) to distribute the unallocated quotas : there are five left for men, as many for women, four in ice dancing and three in couples.
