Africa completes the picture

Climbing

The table is complete. The International Climbing Federation (IFSC) has finalized the new calendar of continental qualifying events for the Tokyo 2020 Games. After Europe (October 1 to 8 in Moscow), Asia (December 10 to 13 in Xiamen, China), and Oceania (December 19 and 20 in Sydney), she revealed the dates of the African championships. The competition will take place from December 10 to 13, in Cape Town or Johannesburg, South Africa. The event was originally scheduled to take place from March 19 to 22, 2020 in Cape Town, but had to be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Each of the continental competitions will distribute two places – one quota per gender – for the Tokyo Games, where climbing will make its debut in the Olympic program as an additional sport.
