Three places are up for grabs… but only two will be awarded. The International Paralympic Committee's Athletes' Commission is not yet complete. New Zealander Adam Hall (para alpine skiing) and Canadian Tyler McGregor (para ice hockey) were elected by their peers with 184 and 169 votes respectively. In contrast, American Declan Farmer (para ice hockey) and Norwegian Mia Larsen Sveberg (wheelchair curling) reached tie for the last available position with 164 votes each.
In accordance with IPC regulations, The athletes' commission will have to decide at its next meetingin April, to decide which of the two athletes will be included. We would like to congratulate Adam and Tyler on their election and to thank all the athletes who voted during the Games, reacted the chairwoman of the commission, Vladyslava Kravchenko. We also thank our outgoing members, Josh Dueck, Mitch Gourley, and Birgit Skarstein, for their contributions over the past few years. We look forward to our next meeting to appoint the third elected member from the Milan-Cortina 2026 Paralympic Winter Games and to elect a new vice-president following Josh Dueck's departure. »
