A legend joins World Skate

The International Skateboarding Federation (World Skate) has announcedthe arrival of Leticia Bufoni (photo above) within its executive committee. The Brazilian is appointed president of the international technical commission of World Skate skateboarding. The body is pleased to be able to count on "the most successful female skateboarder of all time" to continue its development. Bufoni, 31, won five gold medals at the X Games in her career and competed in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. She was also at the Paris 2024 Games as an ambassador. As president of the international skateboard technical commission, her task will be to "give some advice on operational aspects of the World Skateboarding Tour, such as competition formats, points allocation and rankings”. She will also have to “representing views and ideas” of all continental leaders. "This function is accompanied by a full voting rights within our executive office, of which she becomes a member”, adds World Skate. “I want to help grow skateboarding everywhere, her explains. More events, more places to skate, and more kids getting involved. I also want to improve competitions for skaters and fans. The goal is to keep skateboarding fun and keep it growing all the way to LA28.”
