
The General Assembly of the Oman Olympic Committee (OOC) has appointed Sayyid Azzan bin Qais Al Said as new president of the organization on Tuesday. The elected official had previously served as Vice President, and he has been heading the country's Golf Association for several months. He will head the OOC for the next Olympic cycle, until 2028.

Abdullah bin Khamis Ambusaidi was elected Vice President. The General Assembly also appointed Taha bin Sulaiman Al Kashri and Abdullah bin Mohammed Bamkhalef as representatives of the Olympic sports federations, Yousef bin Awad Bait Salim as representative of non-Olympic federations, Khalifa bin Hamad Al Jabri as athletes' representative and Sayyida Sana bint Hamad Al Busaidi as the representative of women's sports.
