A network falls in Eastern Europe

Doping

Nice haul in Eastern Europe. The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) announces that it has collaborated, via its Intelligence and Investigations department, in a vast joint operation between European law enforcement and the Polish Anti-Doping Agency (POLADA). The police raids, also carried out with the help of Europol, revealed ten warehouses located in Poland, Slovakia and the Czech Republic, containing clandestine laboratories which illegally produced counterfeit food supplements and medicines. During the searches, 550.000 packages of illegal substances were seized, including anabolic and androgenic steroids banned in sports, several hundred packages of new psychoactive substances, cash and about a ton of various types of raw materials and of components used in illegal production. Nineteen people were arrested. The total value of the loot has not yet been calculated, but the seized goods already amount to 3,5 million euros.
