IWGA

Before the World Games in August, the weekend of the Chengdu World Games Series (March 28-30) ticked all the boxes. The evaluation report has just been published by the International World Games Association (IWGA) and shows a high level of satisfaction: 90% of athletes and 77% of representatives of international federations rate their experience as good or very good.

The IWGA notes several significant points, including the 18 hours of broadcasting on its streaming platform, a total of 56 million viewers (notably thanks to the Chinese broadcaster CCTV) and nearly 500 articles in the press – the event was notably relayed in Spain, Belgium, Germany and the United States. This edition " a exceeded expectations in all key areas – from international participation and spectator engagement to media reach and site exploitation " explains José Perurena, the president of the body.

« We congratulate the local organizing committee and the city of Chengdu for their exceptional hospitality and professionalism. This event establishes a new standard for future host cities, demonstrating how sport can stimulate economic vitality and community pride. Chengdu has firmly established itself as a world-class host for international multi-sport events. »
