The International Basketball Federation (FIBA) can rub its hands: its global 3×3 circuit and its Asian version have obtained, for the second year in a row, ISO 20121 certification for sustainable development. The FIBA 3x3 World Tour and FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup tournaments were recognized for their practices and initiatives to reduce costs, carbon emissions and waste, but also for their respect for human rights human resources and their inclusive recruitment policy. The body cites in particular the manufacturing of the MVP trophy from recycled materials, reusable water bottles for players and staff, locally produced food and even the recycling of equipment. Another initiative, implemented on the occasion of the last edition of the 3x3 Asian Basketball Cup, organized in Singapore from March 27 to 31: players, officials and volunteers received ezlink cards to borrow public transport to and from their hotel, training and competition locations.
