After Doha, Abu Dhabi. Two days after the end of the road world championships, organized in Qatar, the world cycling elite met in the United Arab Emirates for the second edition of the UCI Cycling Gala. The opportunity for the international organization and its president, Briton Brian Cookson, to present their trophies to the 24 winners, including the new Elite UCI world champions Amalie Dideriksen and Peter Sagan. Organized by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council and the UAE Cycling Federation, in collaboration with RCS Sport, the Gala was held two days before the Abu Dhabi Tour (October 20-23), the four-day professional cycling race days who will join the UCI WorldTour in 2017.
