21 candidates for the IWGA Athletes' Commission

La nouvelle Athletes' Commission of the International World Games Association (IWGA) will be elected in Chengdu in August, on the sidelines of the World Games. Twenty-one athletes are candidates for the seven places to be filledFifteen countries and fifteen sports are represented. Hungary tops the list – with Andrea Busa (kickboxing), Petra Senanszky (underwater sports) and Martial Tadissi (karate) – as well as Australia – with Cat Phillips (flying disc), Yolanda Schmidt (muay thai) and Jessica van der Walt (squash).

The other candidates are Andrés Acuña (Costa Rica), Victor Crouin (France), Loan Drouard (France), Merynanyelly Delgado Araujo (Dominican Republic), Anastasia Glazunova (Moldova), Bridgitte Ellen Hartley (South Africa), Veera Kauppi (Finland), Eric Kindler (United States), Xiaoxiao Lai (China), Bryony Pitman (Great Britain), Max Poschart (Germany), Julia Rick (Germany), Sandra Sanchez (Spain), Rhaea Stinn (Canada) and Abhishek Verma (India).

All have been validated by the athletes' commission of their respective international federationArchery, squash, karate, underwater sports, wushu, and racquetball each nominated two candidates, the maximum possible. Athletes competing in the World Games will be able to vote online from August 3 to 16The results will be announced on August 25.
