There will be no World Road Running Championships this year. In early March, World Athletics announced that San Diego, the initially designated host, could not ultimately host the Championships. The Federation has entered into discussions with a number of potential hosts, but its Council has decided tocancel the 2025 edition given the deadlines, the event being scheduled for September. Some of these discussions will continue for other editions of the event ", states the World Athletics press release. Copenhagen has already been designated as host for 2026.
