Canoe

The international season has not yet started, but it promises to be a record for the International Canoe-Kayak Federation (ICF). The body announces the organization in 2022 of the never before reached number of 12 world championships. Each ICF discipline will hand out world titles this year. Among the highlights announced, the Canoe Slalom and Extreme World Championships, scheduled for Ausgsburg, Germany, on the course where slalom made its first Olympic appearance 50 years ago at the Munich 1972 Games. The Canoe World Championships sprint and paracanoe will take place in Halifax, Canada. Poland, France, Great Britain, Italy, Ukraine and Hungary will also host the world's best paddlers. As a bonus, canoeing will be present with two disciplines – marathon and canoe polo – at the 2022 World Games in Birmingham, Alabama. The season will end with a double world championship in Portugal, where the ICF will award the marathon and ocean racing titles on consecutive weekends in September and October.
