The International Swimming Federation (World Aquatics) has not yet completely left Lausanne. But it has taken another step towards Budapest, the host city of its future headquarters, by inaugurating its temporary office in the Hungarian capital. It will have 25 employees and will house a video recording studio, intended to boost the presence of the organization and its athletes on social networks. The ribbon of this temporary office was cut on Monday, November 11 by the president of World Aquatics, Husain Al-Musallam, and the Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Péter Szijjártó (photo above), in the presence of South African swimmer Chad le Clos, quadruple Olympic medalist, Brazilian polo player Felipe Perrone, six-time world medalist, and Danish swimmer Pernille Blume, double Olympic medalist. The organization must invest more massively in its new world headquarters in Budapest before the 2027 world championships in the Hungarian capital. As a reminder, World Aquatics has decided to move its offices from Lausanne to Budapest during the Fukuoka congress in 2023. However, it will maintain a presence in Switzerland, via its foundation and its swimming integrity unit.
