London to host The Best FIFA Football Awards™ on January 15, 2024

Communiqué

  • The Best FIFA Football Awards™ 2023 will take place in the English capital
  • The ceremony will honor the stars of world football on January 15, 2024
  • Lionel Messi and Alexia Putellas, winners in 2022, put their trophy back on the line

The players, coaches, fans, goals and fair play gestures that marked the past year will receive the tribute they deserve at the eighth ceremony of The Best FIFA Football Awards™ , which will take place in London (United Kingdom).

On January 15, the entire football community will meet in the English capital for a gala evening dedicated to the most popular sport on the planet.

After 2016 and 2017, London is preparing to host the ceremony for the third time.

La list of nominations for eight distinctions was announced in September 2023. An international jury composed of four groups (national coaches, national team captains, specialist journalists and fans who voted on the FIFA website) then selected three finalists for the majority of distinctions. This year again, more than a million votes have been recorded throughout the world.

Each of the four groups (coaches, captains, journalists and supporters) represents 25% of the total, regardless of the number of voters.

Over the coming weeks, FIFA will reveal the names of the finalists in the main categories.

The following 11 awards will be presented during the ceremony:

  • The Best – FIFA Women’s Player
  • The Best – FIFA Player
  • The Best – FIFA Women's Football Coach
  • The Best – FIFA Men's Football Coach
  • The Best – FIFA Goalkeeper
