The presale system fulfilled its mission: allowing residents of Los Angeles and Oklahoma City to take advantage of the best prices, thus facilitating participation for everyone, including those with modest incomes. Locals purchased 95% of all tickets under $100 available during this phase. LA28 specifies that they secured nearly half a million tickets at $28.

Rush on gymnastics
The type of tickets purchased also provides valuable insights. Firstly, 93% of the tickets for the women's sessions were sold, a better result than for the men (88%). This is a strong signal of the interest in women's sport, especially as these Games will offer them... a unique showcase.
Among the most popular sports, artistic gymnastics saw the fastest sales of available tickets during this first phase. Flag football, lacrosse, softball, and squash, new additions to the program, were a huge success, selling out all their available tickets to date. The "Valley" zone, which includes 3x3 basketball, BMX freestyle, BMX racing, modern pentathlon, and skateboarding, also achieved strong sales results. LA28 notes that football was also a hit with the public: almost all available tickets were sold.
The next sales phase is scheduled for August. Fans who haven't already done so can register until July 22nd for a chance to be selected in a lottery and secure a purchase slot. Those who registered for the first phase but weren't selected do not need to register again. This second phase will offer tickets for all Olympic sports at various price points.
