FOCUS Focus

Le influential French-language media for international sport, FrancsJeux.com, changes dimension: after Paris 2024, the editorial adventure of the media created by Alain Mercier enters a new era.

After 6 months of working together with Olbia Conseil, the So Press group has become the owner of the media with the ambition of modernize and diversify content types (videos, audios, Gen Z social media formats), while maintaining a high-quality and demanding editorial line on international sports news from institutions, federations and organizations.

Le independent media group So Press is the publisher of French-language media such as So Foot, Society, So Film, So Good, So 2024, but also the associated group of new media that are Trashtalk for basketball or, in another register, Billboard France on the music industry.

Based in Paris, the group takes over the helm of Francs Jeux with real know-how and internal resources in creating editorial and audio content (with its ten editorial offices and its Allsound podcast production studios), but also audiovisual production, marketing creativity and influence (via the consulting structure Better Call So, social media strategy SoMe and influence agency Do-ko).

"Our ambition is to continue the colossal work of editorial rigor and international influence of Francs Jeux and to develop it through the creation of content, video for social networks and advice and training on editorial strategy." explains Brieux Férot, the group's development director.

"Since January, we have already been working on a dual task of pursuing multi-channel and international editorial requirements, with the development of ambitious partnerships.”, adds Maxime Marchon, in charge of developing the group’s sports titles after having worked as editor-in-chief at So Foot.

The new editorial team of FrancsJeux.com is headed by a long-standing journalist from the group, an expert in multi-sport and the Olympic and Paralympic movement, Quentin BallueHe obviously remains in close and regular contact with the historical founder of the media, Alain Mercier.

Francs Jeux is deployed with a new exclusive partnership offer for federations and stakeholders in the Olympic and Paralympic ecosystem.

  • world sports newsroom, with unique and original services;
  • creation of content and audiovisual productions for the acquisition of new audiences (including Gen Z);
  • consulting and training missions in editorial strategy and showrunning of international sport (major events, performance, impact, culture, lifestyle, etc.).

Threatened with extinction in 2019, the media outlet was taken over in 2020 by the partners of Olbia Conseil. They succeeded in creating a new dynamic to ensure the media outlet's future, which materialized in early 2025 with its takeover by the So Press group.

« Four years ago, our dream was to be able to give Francs Jeux more strength in its ability to tell the story of international sport in French, and to acculturate thousands of professionals to sports governance., explains Benjamin Carlier (Olbia). Thank you to all the partners who have trusted us and made this possible. With the arrival of the So Press group in the adventure, we are happy with the momentum that is being set in motion and proud to have contributed to ensuring a bright future for this media that is dear to us. Long live FrancsJeux !"
