The Olympics at the club (episode 7): Serbian House

Events Focus

Unexpected. And unusual: Serbia has chosen to give a very artistic dimension to its hospitality club at the Paris 2024 Games. The Serbian House stands out a little in the Parc des Nations in La Villette. Guided tour.

The Memorial

The Serbian House, also called Maison serbe in french , is housed in a theater in La Villette, at the entrance to the Parc des Nations. Among the many hospitality clubs of the national Olympic committees, it is the closest to Club France.

The decor

Rather dark. But the little light highlights the exhibition of works by a Serbian artist, Dusan Jovovic, dedicated to tree roots. For the rest, the Serbian House navigates between past and present, with a retrospective of all Serbian Olympians since the first edition of the modern Games, and an interactive table allowing you to play with photos of athletes. A video portal also allows you to communicate with people in Serbia.

The price

Free entry. A 33 cl beer costs 5 euros and Coca-Cola of the same size costs 4 euros. A pork chop with cream is offered for 15 euros, a cheese puff pastry accompanied by yogurt for 10 euros and a salad, Serbian of course, for 7 euros.

The atmosphere

The artistic exhibition encouraging more wandering, the atmosphere is rather calm.

The public

Quite cosmopolitan, with a large number of curious people. Many leave with goodies (booklet, fans, pins, etc.), collected in an elegant red “Experience Serbia” bag, very visible in the paths of Parc de la Villette.

Why you have to go there

For the art exhibition. And for the goodies.

Why is it not essential

Without air conditioning, the heat quickly becomes high. And only the catering area has a video screen to follow the events.
