A must. At the Olympic Games, the House of the Netherlands is always worth a visit. Recognizable by its orange color, it is often distinguished by its atmosphere. The beer flows freely. The noise level is reaching new heights.
FrancsJeux continues with Team NL Huis its guided tour of the clubs and houses of the national Olympic committees at the Paris 2024 Games.
The Memorial
The Zénith de Paris, in the Parc des Nations in La Villette. The Dutch Olympic Committee did not play it cheap, offering itself the entirety of the famous concert hall, but also its square.
The decor
Orange, obviously. From floor to ceiling, on the facade, inside, everywhere. Two giant screens broadcast the events, one of which is outdoors. Several stalls offer drinks and food.
The
Not cheap: 30 euros entry. Heineken beer, official partner of Team NL, is sold for 4 euros, a basket of fries for 5,95 euros, and a burger for 7,50 euros.
The atmosphere
Festive and drunk inside, where Dutch supporters follow the events on the giant screen. Quieter on the Zénith square, where it is possible to enjoy the sun in the numerous deckchairs offered to visitors.
The public
Mostly Dutch. The Team NL Huis can accommodate up to 6.000 people.
Why you have to go there
For the atmosphere, provided by Dutch supporters whose reputation is well established. For the two giant screens, also, indoors and outdoors.
Why is it not essential
At 30 euros entry, the Dutch have set the bar a little high. The orange tide can be a little too frenetic in the late evening. Finally, the commentary for the events on the giant screens is exclusively in Flemish.
