For the 2026 World Cup, Morocco increases the number of consultants

— Published January 29, 2018

Morocco's candidacy for the Football World Cup in 2026 does not spare any expense. According to the site Media24, his team did not only recruit the British agency Vero Communications to support it in its campaign. She also requested two other consultants: the Moroccan group Klem and the French agency Keneo MKTG.

Less than 5 months before the FIFA vote, Morocco hopes to make up part of its presumed delay in the other candidacy file, supported by the United States, Mexico and Canada.

According to Media24, the Moroccan communications group Klem and its subsidiary specializing in sports marketing, 1896 Sports Management, based in Casablanca, reportedly made contact in June 2017 in Paris with the Keneo MKTG agency, owned by the Dentsu Aegis group. Three months later, the two entities joined forces to respond to a restricted call for tenders launched by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation for its candidacy for the 2026 World Cup. In November 2017, they were chosen.

Since then, everyone has tried to find their place within a complex organization. The agencies 1896 Sports Management and Keneo MKTG are associated on the technical part, the production of the application file. At the same time, the Klem group puts its numerous subsidiaries to work to orchestrate national communication: Initiative for the digital part, MIM for press relations, Klem for the creative aspect.

Vero Communications, for its part, retains control over international strategy and communication, deemed a priority in a campaign where the aim remains to seek the votes of FIFA member countries.

A few months before the vote, scheduled for next June in Moscow on the sidelines of the 2018 World Cup in Russia, more than 80 consultants and experts from Vero Communications, the Klem group, the 1896 Sports Management and Keneo MKTG agencies, are currently mobilized full time on the Moroccan file.
