The year 2015 is only in its first third, but it is already busy for Peace and Sport. The international organization, based in the Principality of Monaco, has unveiled a new logo. It has entered into a partnership with the European Winter Youth Olympic Festival, organized last January in Austria and Liechtenstein. On April 6, she accompanied more than 200 programs around the world on the occasion of the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace. Its “White Card” operation brought together nearly 7 million people, an increase of 1,5 million compared to the 2014 edition. Its International Forum, put on hold last year, will regain its place in the calendar from November 25 to 27, 2015. It will be held in Monaco.

Its latest initiative, presented this Tuesday, April 21 at the Sochi ExpoCentre, as part of the SportAccord Convention, appears to be more digital. Its name: Peace and Sport Watch. An anglicism behind which appears a website, http://watch.peace-sport.org, designed as an “alert system” intended to highlight all the news relating to peace through sport. “The good news and the bad,” explains Joël Bouzou, the president and founder of Peace and Sport. A sort of virtual extension of our International Forum. »

The site aims to be independent, engaged and relevant. A partnership was signed with theFrance Media Agency with the aim of supplying a regularly updated information feed, but also the publication of photos and the uploading of video documents. An opinion section will be enriched with new articles on a weekly basis. “A new energy for our organization,” insists Joël Bouzou.

On the home page of the organization's new website, the latest news announces the death sentence, by a Cairo court, of 11 Egyptians arrested in 2012 after the tragedy in Port Said, a clash between supporters in the stands of a football stadium which caused the death of 74 people. “Peace is not just the absence of war,” summarizes Joël Bouzou.
