World Triathlon joins the ITA camp

World Triathlon is joining the movement. The body announced that it had signed a cooperation agreement with the International Testing Agency (ITA) for the management and implementation of its anti-doping programme. It runs until December 2024, thus beyond the current Olympiad. The World Triathlon Executive Board approved the transfer of anti-doping activities to the ITA, a move designed to ensure a much more independent management of its anti-doping programme. As of January 2022, the ITA will be responsible for the entire anti-doping programme in triathlon, including all testing, athlete testing and biological passport administration. It will also support World Triathlon in its doping education activities through a 60-hour programme. For its part, World Triathlon retains responsibility for the management of its Therapeutic Use Exemption programme.
