World Taekwondo to be based in Chuncheon

It’s a done deal. The International Taekwondo Federation (World Taekwondo) has initialled the final agreement to transfer its world headquarters to the South Korean city of Chuncheon. Currently based in Seoul, the organization will not be moving to another country, but to Gangwon province, where the Winter Youth Olympic Games will be held next year. The decision to leave the South Korean capital was announced last April by World Taekwondo. After a call for bids, Chuncheon was preferred to another South Korean city, Gimpo. The body will be housed in a four-storey, 3,100 m2 building, scheduled for construction between 2024 and 2027.
