World Rugby recruits feminine staff

World Rugby is recruiting women into its senior management team. The Dublin-based governing body has announced the recruitment of British national Charlotte Samuelson as its new Chief Operating Officer. In this role, she will have line responsibility for all of World Rugby’s internal business activities, including finance, legal, technology, risk and human resources. She will join the international body from May. A chartered accountant with degrees in psychology, English and philosophy, Charlotte Samuelson has previously held senior positions at Close Brothers, Vanquis Bank, Barclays Bank and Grant Thornton. She has also worked on consultancy, internal audit and risk management assignments at EY, BBC and the charity Breakthrough Breast Cancer. She is not yet well known in the world of rugby, and sport in general, other than as a non-executive board member of Surrey County Cricket Club.
