World Boxing welcomes six new members

World Boxing is continuing its recruitment drive. The new international boxing body, created last April as a direct competitor to the IBA, has announced the arrival of six new national federations. Canada, Brazil, Argentina, Germany, Honduras and Sweden have completed the process of joining World Boxing. These new entrants join the first contingent of federations to break away from the IBA, made up of the United States, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Great Britain, Australia and England. World Boxing now has twelve member countries on four continents. Each of them will be able to present one or more candidates for the positions of governance, including that of president, at the body’s first congress, scheduled for November.
