World Aquatics in support of Syria

Very official and diplomatic visit for Husain Al-Musallam. The president of World Aquatics went to Syria, a very small country on the international swimming map, where the development of aquatic disciplines has been hampered by war and natural disasters. The Kuwaiti leader met with two of Syria’s major sports leaders, the president of the swimming federation and his counterpart from the national Olympic committee. So far, nothing very unexpected. But, less usual, he also met with the Syrian Prime Minister, Hussein Arnous. The two men discussed the development of aquatic sports in the country, and the commitment of World Aquatics to help Syria rebuild its sports infrastructure through the global program “Swimming for All – Swimming for Life“. Designed to encourage swimming for all, it provides training and resources to help countries develop sustainable and accessible initiatives.
