The International Swimming Federation (World Aquatics) is moving ever closer to Hungary. After deciding to move its world headquarters, currently based in Lausanne, to Budapest in the near future, it has announced that it has entered into a partnership with the Hungarian government to distribute study grants to athletes in the aquatic disciplines. The partnership is part of the Hungaricum national sports scholarship programme. The future scholarship holders will be able to train and continue their studies, thanks in particular to the payment of a monthly allowance and the covering of their school fees, accommodation and health insurance. They will be able to study in Hungarian or a foreign language, at any level of the university curriculum, and in any available field of study. Twenty scholarships will be available before the official opening of the World Aquatics Development Centre in Budapest, where the World Aquatics headquarters will be located. The number of scholarships will be increased to 200 after its inauguration.
