US and Norway make common cause

Unprecedented. On Wednesday 24 August, the United States and Norwegian Nordic ski federations announced the signing of a cooperation agreement with a view to the 2026 Winter Games in Milan-Cortina. It concerns the discipline of ski jumping. Under the terms of the partnership, USA Nordic Sport and Norges Hopplandslaget will organise joint training camps for their national ski jumping teams. The two federations will also share technical staff, training facilities and scientific data. As a bonus, they will collaborate in the search for new private partners. The agreement was signed for a period of four years. The combined US/Norwegian team will be led by a Norwegian, Clas Brede Bråthen. At the 2022 Beijing Games, Norway won the gold medal in the large jump with Marius Lindvik (pictured above).
