Ukraine will not pay for the images

The 2022 European Multisport Championships in Munich (11 to 21 August) have taken the right step. The company in charge of the event, ECM, has announced that it has concluded an agreement for the free-to-air broadcast of the competitions on Ukrainian television. The agreement was signed with the public broadcasting group, Suspilne (also known as UA:PBC). An important detail: the images will be provided free of charge to Ukraine. “A gesture of solidarity,” explains ECM. Suspilne’s regional channels will offer at least 75 hours of live TV coverage, plus 175 hours of streaming. Their programmes will cover each of the nine sports of the 2022 edition (athletics, rowing, beach volleyball, canoe sprint, cycling, climbing, gymnastics, triathlon and table tennis), during the 11 days of competition. The Ukrainian delegation at Munich 2022 includes 161 athletes in all disciplines. Before the event began, the Ukrainian delegation was expected to win more than 30 medals in all sports.
