Two supporters for temporary energy

The year 2023 is starting at a good pace for the marketing of the Paris 2024 Games. After Fnac Darty at the beginning of the week, the list of partners is still growing. But today’s announcement only concerns the third level of the programme. The GL events and LOXAM groups announced that they have teamed up to sign a partnership agreement with the Paris 2024 OCOG. They will become official supporters (like Fnac Darty) of the Olympic and Paralympic Games for the supply of temporary energy at all venues. As such, the two companies will provide project management, all services related to the production and distribution of temporary power, uninterruptible power supply and temporary temperature control systems. The temporary power generation facilities will be used to back up the supply of renewable electricity from the national grid. GL events and LOXAM will play the sustainability card by favouring efficient biofuels or green hydrogen. They have also announced their joint intention to mobilise small and medium-sized businesses and the social economy sector (SSE) to provide part of the services. Finally, the partnership’s essential heritage component will result in the massive reuse of products and equipment and the almost complete recycling of site waste. As a reminder, GL Events was already involved in the Paris 2024 Games, but as the service provider in charge of the equestrian events in Versailles. With these two new names, the OCOG now has sixteen official supporters. But the arrival of a new premium partner, announced at the end of last year by Tony Estanguet, is still pending.
