Three stars for a coronation

World Athletics keeps the suspense going. The world governing body of athletics is gradually unveiling the names of the finalists for its annual trophies. It began with the announcement of the three candidates for the title of Male Rising Star for 2023. It will be awarded to the best athlete under the age of 20. The award presented by World Athletics will be contested by Jamaican Roshawn Clarke, 4th in the 400 m hurdles at the Budapest World Championships and world junior record-holder for the distance in 47 sec 43 ; American Erriyon Knighton, silver medallist in the 200 m at the World Championships, US champion, Diamond League winner in Florence and Oslo; and Kenyan Emmanuel Wanyonyi, runner-up in the 800 m in Budapest, Diamond League winner in Rabat, Paris and Xiamen, world champion in the mixed cross-country relay. The winner will be chosen by an international panel of experts. It will be announced on December 11 on the World Athletics website and social networks.
