Three plus two that makes five

The sports program for the third edition of the European Games, scheduled for 2023 in Krakow and in the Malopolskie region (Poland), is starting to take shape. After canoe-kayak slalom, modern pentathlon and taekwondo, the Association of European Olympic Committees (EOC) has unveiled two new sports: karate and beach handball. The former is a regular at the event, having attended the European Games in 2015 in Baku and then in 2019 in Minsk. The second will debut in 2023 in Krakow and the Lesser Poland Voivodeship region. With such a program, to be completed in the coming months, the third edition of the European Games promises to be the least traditional in the short history of the multisport event.
