Thomas Bach brings his journey forward

Thomas Bach

With less than four weeks to go before the opening of the Tokyo Games, Thomas Bach keeps changing the dates of his trip to Japan. The IOC President was initially scheduled to arrive in the Japanese capital on July 12th, but his trip to the Asian peninsula was brought forward by three days, before changing again. According to Kyodo News, citing a source close to the matter, Thomas Bach would now arrive in Japan as early as July 8th. The IOC is said to have changed his flight plan to fit in with his schedule before the opening of the Games. The German leader will remain in seclusion in his hotel for three days on arrival in Japan. He is scheduled to travel to Hiroshima on July 16th, the start of the Olympic truce. The following day, he will chair a two-day meeting of the IOC Executive Board, before the opening of the IOC Session on July 20th, also scheduled to last two days.
