Thomas Bach arrived on site

Thomas Bach

Thomas Bach is in Tokyo. The IOC President arrived as planned in the Japanese capital on Thursday, July 8th, in the early afternoon, a few hours only before the announcement of the Japanese decision not to allow spectators on official sites. Upon arrival at Haneda airport, Thomas Bach was tested for the coronavirus before going to his hotel. He is expected to remain in isolation until Sunday, July 11th, with virtual meetings and exchanges only. His program foresees a series of meetings, starting next Monday, with the organizing committee, the Tokyo metropolitan government and the IOC envoys already on the spot, including John Coates, the vice-president, and Christophe Duby, the director of the Olympic Games. Thomas Bach must then go to Hiroshima on July 16th, a week only before the opening of the Tokyo Games.
