The Association of European Olympic Committees (EOC) is making athletes envious. Less than a week before its annual forum, scheduled for November 7 in Rome (Italy), the body has published the list of candidates for the Athletes’ Commission. There are 13 names on the list, with four vacancies to be filled. Three seats are reserved for summer sportsmen and women, with the final one going to a winter sports representative. At the forum, the commission will also vote for a new president, as the term of Estonian discus thrower Gerd Kanter comes to an end after six years in office. The thirteen candidates are as follows: Roberts Akmens (Latvia, canoeing), Gogita Araknia (Georgia, karate), Zorana Arunovic (Serbia, shooting), Agnieszka Kobus-Zawojska (Poland, rowing), Anastasiia Kozhenkova (Ukraine, rowing), Daniele Lupo (Italy, beach volleyball), Alexandra Miskovska (Slovakia, archery), Rustam Orujov (Azerbaijan, judo), Ronald Rauhe (Germany, canoe), Emanuel Silva (Portugal, canoe), Denes Varga (Hungary, water polo), Johanna Taliharm (Estonia, biathlon), Alexander Payer (Austria, snowboard).
