2023 will be the year of Asia for amateur boxing. The world body of the discipline, the IBA, announced it in a statement, where it explains that the continent will host in the coming months the two main events of its international calendar, the World Championships. The women will start next month in New Delhi, India, followed in May by the men in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The Year of Asia will be marked by a succession of events and initiatives across the continent designed to highlight the growth and development potential of boxing. These include, in addition to the two IBA World Championships, several continental competitions and training camps.
