Return to Spain for the World Triathlon Multisport. The World Triathlon Executive Committee has decided to award Pontevedra the organization of the event in 2025. The Spanish city had already hosted the competition in 2019. A stronghold of international triathlon, it will also host the World Triathlon Championship Finals next September. Spain is the country of the president of World Triathlon, Marisol Casado. The World Multisport Championships, held for the first time in 2017 in Penticton, Canada, include the disciplines of duathlon, duathlon cross, long distance triathlon, aquathlon and triathlon cross. The next edition will be held this year in Ibiza (Spain), the next in 2024 in Townsville, Australia.
