World Athletics and the Local Organizing Committee celebrated on Tuesday, January 31, the symbolic date of D – 200 days before the opening of the World Outdoor Athletics Championships in Budapest (August 19 to 27, 2023). With a little more than six months to go, the ticketing is running at full speed, with more than 100,000 tickets already sold, a result higher than the Hungarian organizers expected. The buyers come from 70 countries. The volunteer program has been equally successful, with 3,500 registered applicants from 30 countries. The registration platform will close on February 20. Finally, World Athletics announced that the 2023 World Championships should bring together in the Hungarian capital more than 2,000 athletes from 200 countries, and nearly 8,000 accredited persons.
