A new animal has entered the circle of sports event mascots. It was not expected. The organisers of the next World Figure Skating Championships, scheduled for 21-27 March 2022 in Montpellier, southern France, took advantage of the French Elite Championships to introduce Loulou, the official mascot of the competition. Loulou is an otter. According to the French Ice Sports Federation (FFSG), which is in charge of the organisation, this animal combines all the qualities of a skater: fast, graceful and agile.
